From the Editor Asian Perspectives By Jim Aisner Whether at the height of its prosperity or in the throes of economic crisis, Asia has been a focal point of Harvard Business School researchers for several decades. To facilitate and further enrich the process of study and analysis, HBS has established a permanent presence in the region with the opening of its Asia-Pacific Research Office in Hong Kong. "The office positions us to extend the quantity and quality of our research in the world," says Dean Kim B. Clark, "allowing us to create new intellectual capital for our various educational programs." Reflecting this objective, Working Knowledge dedicates this issue to highlighting a number of faculty findings and perspectives on Asia.
